more to life

There's more to life than just work... boy girl problems... family issues... TV... games... how many people you've dated.. or slept with.. what car he/she drives... how big your house is... and the list goes on.

If you're reading this post, know this - that you're very, very lucky indeed. The chances of you living a full life are much, much higher than a kid who was born HIV positive or with a drug addiction that he or she might never be able to undo and yet it wasn't his or her fault. That kid will most probably never even learn that he or she has the right to live.

Consider yourself fortunate that you're not likely to walk in their shoes, unless you decide to take a wrong path. Whatever you believe in, count your lucky stars, appreciate the ones close to your heart but above all else, cherish your life. There really is more to life beyond what the naked eye can see, louder than what the human ear can hear. Live like you're only given one chance so live it out fabulous.

calling who?

Lately, I can't deny that we're all getting older by the second. As the earth ages - now exponentially faster than before - it's hard to ignore that people, especially precious ones around us, are leaving this world, sometimes sadly without even a word of goodbye.

It used to be that death was a subject discussed more often by elders. Unfortunately, I've found myself hearing about death more often than I'd like. Angels, death is no longer something just for the older generation to worry about. It is something we ourselves have to face as well now.

Ever thought about your own life and death? Maybe it is time to start pondering. Found the answer to the meaning of your life? Maybe it is time to start searching.

Ever wondered if there really is a God? Maybe it is time to embrace a religion other than the 'me, myself & I' religion. One day, when you realize that there's more to this world than the human eye can see, that there's a universe out there beyond those clouds, that there's a Grand Master at work, then life and - more importantly - death might not seem so intimidating all of a sudden.

If you have not tried calling upon God, I encourage you to give it a shot. No, you wouldn't get electrocuted nor will you get extraordinary, out-of-this-world experiences. He'll give just enough for you to handle and maybe a little more for you to experience His awesomeness!

Every single one of us has a calling. A calling to carry out our duty in this world. When you've found that calling, then you have found the answer to life's greatest question - the meaning of your life.

Life's too short for us to enjoy it whichever way we like to. We're given only one life to live so live it meaningfully and leave this world fulfilled without any regrets. Life's too fragile for us to stay away from those who love us. Take every opportunity to show your loved ones how much you love them, even when you're not showing it, even if you don't know it yourself. Putting a smile on someone else's face brings heartwarming rewards like nothing else in this world.

Remember that when someone smiles at you, that's God smiling at you and saying 'well done, My child.' He's calling you to call on Him, before it's too late.

thoughts

Hello, angels.

I haven't quite been myself lately. Somehow, I felt that my last post didn't quite sound like what I used to write anymore but I just couldn't get it right. I decided to post it anyways. What do you think?

I would love to hear your opinions, to see if there still are angels out there reading this. If so, I'll continue, even if it's only one angel who's hearing me. If not, that's alright as well.

So if you hear me, whisper yes. If you want to leave me an inspiration or start a conversation to inspire me, write me.

Here's to all you lovely angels. Lots of love.

a heart with that will

Years ago, when I was still in high school, I had told a friend that I wouldn't be able to join her for shopping on a Sunday 'cos I'd be going to church. She replied 'I'm a Christian too but I don't go to church. I pray to God at home kneeling next to my bed.'

Too often has it been misunderstood that anyone can be a Christian anywhere, anyhow. Part of that myth is true: anyone at all can be Christian anywhere. Jesus does not discriminate nor does he neglect anyone who has the heart to know Him. But what we misunderstand is that to be a Christian is not by mere proclamation. It means more than just declaring you are a Christian. It's more than just thinking you are one.

It takes a heart with the will to accept the Lord as personal Savior, to love Jesus even when you can't see or touch Him, to serve Him in ways He calls us to, to live our lives the best way we know how for His glory.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), you don't wake up one day to suddenly find yourself a child of God. To Him, you already were His child before you were even conceived in your mommy's womb but for you, you have to sincerely and consciously accept Him to come into your heart, into your life.

It is an inevitable fact that ultimately, we're all humans. And humans mostly only love things that can be seen, felt and touched. Well, my angels, my God can't be 'seen' by the human eye so many think of Him as non-existent while some confuse Him with other 'gods'.

So the first step is to ask yourself who is God to you? Is there a God at all? If your answer is yes, then begin seeking within you if this is the God that you want to know personally.

You take the baby steps and He'll bring you through giant leaps. He's the One with miracles, remember? You just need to find that will to want to know, love and seek Him.

goodbye, 2007

If I were to say that I can't believe it's really 2008, it'd be the understatement of the year. And the year has just started.

If you were to ask me what I've achieved in 2007, I probably wouldn't be able to answer you.

But if you asked me what I want for my 2008, I might have a couple of answers. I wouldn't call them New Year's resolutions because I'd probably never achieve them if I thought of them as resolutions. Just some things I want to do for myself. And I pray that when we reach Christmas this year, I can gladly say that I did it.

And angels, I wish the same for all of you. There will only ever be one 2008 and we all have but one life so don't waste it on meaningless things. Let us not just talk the talk but also walk our talk. And you're not alone because I'm there with you but most of all, He's there with you. Angels, never doubt that you can't do it. Believe in yourself and believe that you can and you will. And when you find yourself struggling, seek Him and you will find. He'll be your strength and refuge.

All you need is just a little heart and courage to make that first move and He'll do the rest. It'd be beyond the extraordinary, more than your wildest dreams, it'd be a miracle. He is, after all, the one and only miracle worker.

And to end, I wish all my angels a very blessed 2008.

christmas

Here I wish all my dear angels a Blessed Christmas. And I thank God for your precious lives and for all the wonders, miracles and joys He'll be bringing to all of you this new year.

I love Christmas, not only for all the love that goes around, not only for all the gifts exchanged among eager hands, not only for my favorite carols, but also the day to remember the birth of a child, the birth that brought us back to Him, that gave us eternal life.

Every day can be Christmas day if you want it to be, when you remember God's gift to us. You only need to listen, learn and love. And watch as your life unfolds beyond the ordinary right before your eyes.

Did you hear that? The angels rejoiced and cheered when you said 'Yes, Lord.' Now smile and live for Him.
